Resource of the Month: Empower Students to Adopt Healthy Lifestyles Implement the Presidential Youth Fitness Program

Physical activity is critical to our children's health and well-being. Research shows that children with better health are in school more days, are better able to learn, have higher self-esteem and are at lower risk for developing chronic diseases. In order to help promote the adoption of active and healthy lifestyles, the Presidential Youth Fitness Program (PYFP) has released a new document to aid in the implementation of PYFP in schools nationwide. The document features a brief program overview, information on how to access free tools and resources, and a comprehensive checklist to assist physical educators in implementing the program in their schools.
