Support Healthy Activities for a Military Kid

In honor of our July 4th Independence Day celebration, donate to Our Military Kids. 95% of your contribution will go directly to the child of a deployed service man or woman to pay for sports participation, music, art, or dance lessons and tutoring. These activities are not only nourishing and healthful; they help children deal with the stress of an absent parent or one recovering from severe injury sustained while on active duty.

Host an Active Aging Week Event

active-aging-week Active Aging Week is September 22-28, 2013. Join the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA) and over 3,000 organizations in hosting an event this week.

Yoga and t’ai chi, dances, health fairs, and seminars—the possibilities are endless—any event that recognizes that life’s full measure of enjoyment is available to everyone regardless of age. Register as a host site and gain access to campaign and marketing materials.

Host a National Women’s Health and Fitness Day Event

Women’s Health & Fitness Day is the nation’s largest annual health promotion event for women of all ages. This year’s event is set for Wednesday, September 25, 2013, and in future years, is always be held on the last Wednesday in September. This unique national program — with participation by local organizations throughout the U.S. — focuses attention on the importance of regular physical activity and health awareness for women. Talk to your co-workers and supervisors now to get your workplace to host a National Women’s Health and Fitness Day event. Once you register to become an official site, your organization is entitled to use the event name and logo and to order event incentive items—T-shirts, note pads, posters, etc.
