The President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports invites you to take The Great Outdoors Challenge! Outdoor recreation and sports can be enjoyed in the mountains, on a river or lake, at a community park, or along a trail.
In addition, you can be active and help ensure the beauty of these great places well into the future by volunteering to clean up a trail, beach or park area.
No matter if you are enjoying a day long hike at a national forest, skateboarding at the park, or swimming at the beach, always remember to leave the space you use as good, if not better, than the way you found it. Being active in the outdoors is a great way to appreciate and connect with nature year round, while improving your health at the same time.
The President’s Challenge offers a list of over 100 activities,
over half of which can be enjoyed outdoors. You can either
work towards a Presidential Active Lifestyle Award (30 minutes
a day/five days per week) or towards your Presidential Champions Award:
bronze – 20,000 points
silver – 45,000 points
gold – 80,000 points
